What can be Copyrighted

In India, the following works can be copyrighted:

 

  1. Literary works: books, novels, poems, lyrics, articles, computer programs, website content, etc.
  2. Artistic works: paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, maps, logos, etc.
  3. Musical works: compositions and songs with or without lyrics.
  4. Cinematographic works: films, documentaries, advertisements, music videos, etc.
  5. Sound recordings: recordings of music, songs, speeches, etc.
  6. Architectural works: plans, drawings, and buildings.
  7. Computer software and databases.

 

It’s important to note that for a work to be copyrighted, it must be original and should have some level of creativity or intellectual effort put into it.
