What is Copyright Objection

In India, there is no concept of copyright objection.

However, during the copyright registration process, the Copyright Office may issue an examination report raising objections or pointing out discrepancies in the application.

The applicant is required to respond to the examination report within a stipulated time period, failing which the application may be deemed abandoned.

The examination report may contain objections related to the title of the work, the ownership of the copyright, or any other requirement for registration as per the Copyright Act and Rules. The objections must be addressed appropriately in the response to the examination report.
