How to File (ESI) Employee State Insurance Returns

ESI returns filing can be done through the ESIC portal.

 

Here are the steps to file ESI returns:

 

1. Visit the ESIC portal at www.esic.in.
2. Click on the “Online ESI Portal” link.
3. Log in to the portal using your username and password.
4. Click on the “Returns” tab and select “File ESI Returns” from the drop-down menu.
5. Select the return period for which you want to file the return.
6. Enter the details of the employees, including their name, date of birth, gender, and Aadhaar number.
7. Enter the details of the wages paid to each employee.
8. Upload the ESI contribution challan for the return period.
9. Review the details entered and submit the return.

 

Once the return is submitted, a receipt will be generated. It is important to keep a copy of the receipt for future reference.
