How to Maintain Inspection Book

An inspection book is a record that helps in maintaining records of inspections carried out by the ESI authorities. It is a vital record for compliance with ESI regulations.

Here are the steps to maintain an inspection book:

1. Create an inspection book: The inspection book can be created in a physical format or an electronic format. A physical inspection book can be a notebook, register or binder, while an electronic inspection book can be a spreadsheet or a database.

2. Enter the details: Every time an ESI inspector visits the premises, the details of the inspection need to be entered in the inspection book. The details to be recorded include the name of the inspector, date of inspection, time of inspection, purpose of inspection, observations made during inspection, and any non-compliance found.

3. Get the inspector’s signature: The inspector should sign the inspection book as proof that the inspection was carried out.

4. Take corrective action: If non-compliance is found during the inspection, corrective action should be taken immediately. The action taken should be recorded in the inspection book.

5. Keep the inspection book safe: The inspection book should be kept in a secure place where it can be easily accessed by authorized personnel.

6. Maintain a backup: If you are using an electronic inspection book, it is important to maintain a backup to prevent loss of data.

It is important to maintain an inspection book as it helps in complying with ESI regulations and also acts as a record of all inspections carried out.
